Learn the Training System That Puts You in Control
Start your base season with clarity, structure, and confidence - and carry that momentum all year.
After 25 years of riding, my power was slowly slipping and I assumed it was just age. Erik’s course completely changed that. For the first time, I learned how to train with purpose - how to evaluate my workouts daily, weekly, and over time. The system made sense immediately, and within a few weeks I felt stronger and started chipping away at my FTP. I’m planning workouts weeks ahead now and hitting personal bests on Zwift and Peloton. Even after the class ended, Erik remained available to help.

After my worst winter in a decade due to a move and a back injury, I had lost all fitness - and even the joy of riding. Erik’s Base Training Mastery course changed everything. His explanations made complex concepts easy to understand, and the system gave me structure, clarity, and motivation again. Week after week I felt myself getting stronger and actually looking forward to training. For the first time in a long time, I enjoyed my rides and felt excited about what was ahead.
- Wim V., Belgium
This course is a great place to start if you’re new to structured training, don’t have a coach, and want to become fully self-sufficient in how you train. Clear, simple, and confidence-building.
- Andrew K., Tasmania, Australia
After years of fading motivation and struggling to balance training with work, I felt lost. Erik’s Base Training Mastery course gave me clarity again. I now feel more knowledgeable about my training and far more prepared heading into the season than I have in years. Erik’s passion for helping people succeed shines through in the material, the mental notes, and the real-world “what if” scenarios he shares. I genuinely believe this will take my cycling to the next level in a way that aligns with what I want out of the sport.

This membership is for cyclists who want a training plan they’ll actually want to follow - because they get to shape it. You’ll use a step-by-step framework to customize your plan to your real fitness, real constraints, and real ambitions. When the plan reflects your decisions, sticking to it becomes natural… and far more enjoyable.
It's for you if:
• You’ve had good fitness in the past, but life pulled you off track. You’re ready to rebuild with a method that feels sustainable enough to stick - and still makes sense five to ten years from now.
• You've trained consistently and tried to figure things out on your own - but you’re never sure if you're on the right track. You have questions, doubts, and that uncertainty makes it harder to put in the work with confidence.
• You’re successful in most areas of your life, with big goals you consistently work toward. Once you decide something matters, you make it real - which is exactly why it bothers you when cycling feels harder to pin down.
• You loved riding your bike as a kid because it felt like pure freedom. You still want that now - the independence to ride and train how you want, especially as you work toward getting stronger.
• You sometimes sense there are beliefs limiting what you think you’re capable of - subtle, familiar, always in the background. You’re ready to deal with them and replace them with beliefs that support the cyclist you want to become.
• You’ve been around long enough to know your internal motivation is the only engine you can rely on. External hype never lasts - if only there were a way to strengthen your inner drive instead of getting pulled away from it.
• You’re wise enough to know that what works for others doesn’t always work for you. You want purposeful training (not guesswork) and you want to tailor things to your fitness level, your schedule, and your ambition.
• You prefer practical training advice from someone who’s actually lived it. A real coach who’s navigated these same challenges and built a system from experience - not from theory or recycled information.
• You ride for the peace and clarity, the solitude and connection, the speed, the flow, the accomplishment, the connection with friends, the meals that taste better afterward. It’s one of the few places life feels simple and it's where you feel most like yourself.
If any of that sounds like you, you’re exactly who I built this for.
(And Why It Matters All Year)
Plenty of cyclists rely on plans that tell them what to do but never teach them why it works. It’s hard to stay consistent when you don’t understand the structure behind your own training.
This system starts with base because it teaches the part most cyclists never learn:
how training load actually builds
how ramp rate works
how to customize a hard workout the right way
how much zone 2 you really need
how to balance stress and recovery so fitness grows instead of stalls
You won’t be guessing — you’ll be using structured block templates that show you when to push, when to recover, and what type of workout fits each day.
The cheat sheet gives you clear guidance for customizing harder sessions so they match your fitness, schedule, and ambition.
Inside the ATP Hub, you’ll plan your ramp rates and total workload so you always know how much you can handle — and how to adjust when life happens.
It’s the same process I’ve refined over 23 years of self-coaching and 6 years of coaching others, now turned into a simple, practical system you can use yourself.
The goal isn’t just a better base phase.
The goal is understanding your training well enough to improve all year.
The ATP Hub: Your Season at a Glance
It’s easy to end up training week to week without ever seeing the bigger picture. The ATP Hub fixes that. It’s a simple, powerful planning tool that brings your entire season into one clear view — your schedule, your workload, your block choices, your weekly targets, and your results.
Everything in the system connects back to this hub.
You’ll use it to plan your ramp rates, track your training load, decide when to push and when to recover, and see how each block fits into the larger season. It takes the guesswork out of training without removing your freedom to make choices.
The ATP Hub includes example seasons, a cheat sheet, reflection prompts, a testing log, and optional blocks for later in the year once you finish base. It’s the central place where you learn how your season fits together — and how to adjust it when life happens.
This is the tool that makes you a self-coached cyclist.
This system is taught live and recorded into 5 modules containing 67 lessons, so you not only understand the “what” — you understand the why behind every part of your training.
Here’s what you’ll learn inside:
• How to use a simple ATP to see your season at a glance
• How to plan workload so your CTL rises steadily
• How to adjust when you get off track or when life happens
• How to customize block templates to match your goals and schedule
• How to select the right mix of intensity and volume
• How to structure your weeks so recovery and load work together
• How to make sense of TrainingPeaks metrics like TSS, CTL, ATL, and TSB
• How to go from “understanding the system” to applying it in TrainingPeaks
• How to choose and modify harder workouts based on your current fitness
• How to know if your training is working (using a simple weekly process)
• How to use the right tests at the right time to measure improvement
• How to adjust your plan with confidence when things change
• How to understand yourself as a cyclist — and who you’re becoming
• How to develop long-term training instincts
• How to finish base strong, confident, and ready for what comes next

I check in consistently to offer help and clarity. This isn’t 1:1 coaching, but it is the place to get real answers, direction, and encouragement as you improve.

I’ve spent more than two decades riding, training, experimenting, and refining a system built for real life. Along the way, I kept seeing the same pattern: cyclists weren’t lacking discipline - they were lacking clarity. The advice out there was scattered, generic, or contradictory, and it never showed the whole picture.
Over the years, I’ve helped riders navigate every part of the training process: building base fitness, choosing blocks, managing workload, hitting peak shape, recovering well, and understanding the metrics behind their progress. The cyclists who improved most weren’t the ones with the fanciest plans - they were the ones who learned why their training worked and took ownership of the process.
My background is in engineering and systems design, so I naturally built tools, templates, and structures to make training clearer. After years of refining them through my own racing - including podiums in major road races and ultra-distance MTB events - and through coaching athletes around the world, this system became the foundation of everything I teach.
This membership is the complete version of that system.
My goal is simple: to give you the structure, clarity, and tools to guide your own training with confidence - without guesswork, without dependency, and without needing a degree in exercise science to understand how to train at a high level.

Absolutely. Many riders begin base training after time off. The system scales to any fitness level and helps you rebuild steadily with a custom workload that feels just right.
Yes. The principles behind this system are the same ones elite coaches rely on. The difference is that I built a simple, practical method that makes the theory usable in real life - blending several approaches to create progressive overload throughout base, with each block targeting specific physiological adaptations.
Yes. The system is built around power-based training so you can plan your workload, ride in the correct zone, and measure progress.
This system is built for real life. You’ll learn how to adjust blocks, shift weeks, scale rides, and keep your momentum even when your schedule gets unpredictable. You'll understand how I adjust athlete's schedules when they get off track.
Yes. Everything is explained in simple, practical terms. There’s also a beginner-friendly guide to help you set up zones, understand power data, and start training with clarity. You'll go from being new to an expert in a very short time.
Yes. Every improvement, new lesson, new template, or new module (including an upcoming women’s physiology module) is included in your membership at no extra cost.
A solid base phase typically uses 6–10+ hours per week, but you don’t need to start high. The system teaches you how to build volume progressively, choose the right workload for your current fitness, and find a rhythm that fits your life. The important thing is that you can decide.
